This book by Doris Lanier, delves into the history, abuse and prohibition, as well as the use of absinthe within the United States, and most particularly, New Orleans. Lots of very interesting facts. Written in 1995, the book takes a historical perspective of absinthe and touches briefly into its folklore. There are also chapters devoted entirely to artists from Van Gogh to Picasso.
